Crawfish gauge
$9.00
Checks the jacket and the tail for Bahamian legal size, in one slim gauge that clips to your belt.
Sized for Bahamian law, not Florida's. The top hooks check the jacket (3¼" carapace) and the bottom hooks check the tail (5½"). Most gauges only measure the jacket.
Hook the top end across the jacket from the eye horns to the back of the shell: if the jacket is longer than the gap, it's legal. Lay a tail between the bottom hooks: if it's longer, it's legal.
Quarter-inch rulers run along both edges, so you can see exactly how far over (or under) the legal size a crawfish is. The Bahamas flag is pressed into the back.
We make the gaps a hair wide on purpose, so a borderline crawfish goes back in the water, not into a fine. The lanyard hole keeps it on your dive belt. About 6" × 1¼".
Always check the current season and size rules with the Department of Marine Resources.
